Alex LaFreniere lived up to expectations Monday afternoon as the 16 year old phenom lead the Rimouski Oceanic into Halifax for his first ever game against the highly ranked Halifax Mooseheads. The Mooseehads eventually won the game 6-5 in overtime but the 8,328 went home impressed with the 1st overall pick of the 2017 QMJHL draft. LaFreniere was the 3rd Star with 2 goals, his team leading 36th and 37th of the season and tied the score at 5 with 3 minutes left in regulation. He had a total of 8 shots and 4 were considered dangerous. John Moore has produced this short 2 minute video of the young gun’s first ever visit to Scotiabank Centre.
