Bedford Blues are competing at the Nova Scotia Midget AA hockey championships in Spryfield, NS this weekend. The Blues have rallied around head coach Marc Bildstein who is trying to support his cousin’s partner, Lindsey Hubley who has necrotizing fasciitis (flesh eating disease). Lindsey Hubley gave birth to a baby and had to return to the hospital after discovering an irregular mark on her leg. The team manager Isabel Symington reached out to the parents and players and was overwhelmed with the response. Already more than $80,000 has been raised for the mother who faces a long road ahead with multiple surgerys. Even in these difficult times, the Blues coach admits hockey has helped him get through his family’s health challenges.
