Logan and Leighton Carruthers are sons of former QMJHL referee Andrew who wore the stripes for more than 15 years. He has since retired but his two sons are making their mark on the sport. Logan is in his 2nd year with Halifax McDonalds in the NSMMHL and younger brother was the captain of the TASA Major Bantam Gulls this past season. Last weekend, Logan and the Macs captured the Atlantic Major midget title and earned a berth at the Telus Cup, while Leighton was named MVP and the Gulls claimed the Bronze at the Atlantic Bantam championships. John Moore caught up with the brothers and their respective coaches, Tim Boyce and Ian Haverstock.
