Cape Breton West Islanders Captain Axel Poirier was given 9 minutes in penalties and a game misconduct for attacking Halifax Macs defenceman Lauchie MacDonald in the final minute of their Nova Scotia Major Midget Hockey League playoff series at the Civic Arena, Sunday afternoon. The Macs won the game 5-2 to take the series 4-1 but many left the rink disgusted with the decision of the Islanders captain to attack MacDonald.
