Cape Breton West Islanders are coming off a National Major Midget championship, winning the 2017 Telus Cup by defeating Lac St Louis Lions in overtime in Gold medal game last spring. Four members of the team, Logan Chisholm, Jacob Hudson, Colten Ellis and Ryan MacLellan are now playing in the QMJHL and head coach Kyle MacDonald will be leaning on his returning veterans to lead the way this season. John Moore caught up with the Islanders coach at the Early Bird tournament in Truro this weekend.
