Cooper Jones may be one of smallest players in Tuesday’s Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game at Scotiabank Centre, but that didn’t stop the American born defence man from coming to the aid of his high scoring teammate Filip Zadina. The Czech Republic native, a top prospect for the 2018 NHL draft went down after a big open ice hit from Wildcats Dman Simon Le Coultre. 5 foot 8 inch Jones didn’t like the hit and ended up dropping the gloves with Moncton forward 6 foot 2 Colton McKenna. It was a spirited scrap and the Mooseheads fans were most appreciative. Le Coultre was not penalized on the play and after a brief rest on the bench, Zadina returned to play.
