Gabe Fortier makes triumphant QMJHL debut vs his older brother Max and the Halifax Mooseheads Friday (Jan 20/ 2017)). The Baie Comeau 4th overall pick of the 2016 QMJHL draft had the entire first half of his rookie season wiped out due to shoulder surgery. The former Lac St-Louis Lions star spent almost 6 months recovering and getting prepared for his debut. He circled January 20 in Halifax on his calendar as his first game. Not only did he step into the lineup but played well in a 7-4 win over the Mooseheads before 7,600 on DND Appreciation Night. Fortier had 2 shots, 2 hits and a plus 1 on the night. John Moore spoke with Fortier and coach Martin Bernard prior to the game. Here are interviews and isolation video of the speedy Fortier.
