Stanley Cup hero Stephane Matteau is gving back to troubled youth upstate New York and New York City. 47 year old Rouyn-Noranda native how retired and living in Montreal visits New York once a month to listen to and advise troubled youth. Matteau became somewhat of a Stanley Cup hero with the New York Rangers during their championship season as he scored a Game 7 double overtime winner against the New Jersey Devils to send the Broadway Blueshirts onto the Cup final versus the Vancouver Canucks. Matteau returns to his hometown, Rouyn-Noranda for his good friends 50th birthday party and attends a Rouyn-Noranda Huskies QMJHL playoff game against the Halifax Mooseheads. John Moore caught up with Matteau prior to Game 2, Huskies won 3-2 in overtime to tie the best of 7 series at 1. Matteau played for 6 different NHL teams during his 848 game NHL career. He shares his thoughts on gving back, parenting and not taking anything for granted as a junior hockey player.
